Why the need for ZDDPlus?
This oil additive is needed for cars equipped with a flat tappet camshaft!
The reasoning being that the U.S EPA wanted better emissions, resulting in taking the needed zinc and phosphurous to promote longer lasting catalytic converters.
The lack of these two important elements in the newly formulated oils resulted in catastrophic failures within the valvetrain.(ie. Worn/wiped lobes)
There are other off the self products that contain these elements, but arn't enough to promote the required lubrication to the camshaft and lifters.
ZDDPlus contains the needed 18% zinc and 15% phosphorus to keep youre classic engine in good running order for years to come!
